This falls into the category of "how could I have lived a reasonably  
intelligent life on this planet for 44 years and not known anything about this  
phenomena".  How could I never have encountered poppy wearing?  Thanks  for the

Carol  Gould apparently lives off the Edgware Rd but someone who knows
exactly where  she lives said most of the non-poppy-wearers she saw were more
likely to be  Irish than (non-British) Arabs. Whatever..
