Good Friday is a legal holiday in Germany as in many other countries; this is not new or surprising to me.

However I was slightly taken aback to learn that the day is also covered by specific laws with special restrictions - for example: on dancing. These laws also forbid other entertainment events (including sports) 'unless they promote intellectual and spiritual elevation or a higher interest in art, science or national education and consider the serious character of the day'. Theaters and operas also must take Good Friday into account in their programs.

Do other countries also impose such restrictions on this day?
