Carol,

I am not sure as This is the fist time I am using linux. I have the DHCP
server running on the router (its the linksys 4 port router) and I have
dhcpcd running on the linux m/c.

I have a 98 m/c connected to the same router and its working fine, but for
some reason linux is not working...

Balvinder, My computer guru set up my linux machine and I have this exact
same setup. Sounds like the numbers are OK but is the DHCP set up right on
the linux machine. I also had a lot of trouble with this and the problem was
not with the IP setup but with the DHCP setup. -Carol
