Sorry, I just spotted a weirdness in "Code: One-Time Setup"
mkdir -p /var
cd var
ln -sf db ../tmp/db
ln -sf cache ../tmp/cache
mount -t ramfs none /tmp
That creates two links in /tmp that point to themselves, then mount a
ramdisk covering them up. What was the intention?
