I think I know why this might be: the driver uses an automated selection of
minor number from within the usb major number hierarchy. I probably selected the wrong start index. Should be easy to correct.



On a different subject - have you considered putting together a project
page (eg sourceforge), so there is a central place for the latest
downloads and documentation?
