It was the cable - I can now capture video! Thanks.
I have found another problem though - when my usb printer is turned on
things get a bit confused. The device /dev/avcap1 is created, but can't
use this device (ie using the number 1 or 0 on the avcctrl command).
Let me know if you'd like me to do anything to help diagnose this problem.
On a different subject - have you considered putting together a project
page (eg sourceforge), so there is a central place for the latest
downloads and documentation?
