Hello,
My name is Emily Kwan, a current Biomedical Engineering senior at the
University of Rochester. I was interested in the Liblouis software because
my senior design team is currently working on a low cost braille reader
device that would capture images of braille, convert to text, and then to
an audio output. Once the braille is imaged processed to detect the braille
dot patterns, I saw the Liblouis software as a pre-existing method of
translation to text.
We are hoping to do our prototyping in python however currently I am having
difficulties setting up the library and properly installing
(compiling/building the library). I'm currently using windows 7, but could
switch to an Ubuntu/Linux system if you believe that would be easier.
I have so far downloaded Liblouis (windows build) and attempted playing
with the setup.py file on github.
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
