I feel that the current behavior, to insert an end indicator before an
un-emphasized punctuation mark, is the correct behavior. So either the test
should emphasize the whole phrase if no end indicator is to be inserted, or the
expected result should be adapted to include the end indicator. Christian chose
the prior.

Is this the desired result? Should this not be the decision of a pre-processor
and what of other punctuation?
I appreciate you are trying to resolve issues but isn't it desirable sometimes
to only emphasis one word or part of a word and if it happens to be at the end
of a sentence then the punctuation is not emphasised. I appreciate that in
print it is sometimes very hard to see the difference. I'm just wondering if
this is a step too far for liblouis.

Mark the period at the end of the sentence as bold
If the period is not bold then liblouis assumes that the emphasis stops
inside a word and adds an end emphasis indicator.
