Do we wish to support columnspan and rowspan (I am initially thinking of
mtable in MathML, although other tables might be relevant) in
LibLouisUTDML? If yes when?
My view is that whilst it is very desirable to add these, they would be
new features and so might be worth delaying until we start working on a
major redesign of LibLouisUTDML. I am not certain how easy it would be
to modify the existing code to deal with these new features. My concern
being how number of columns and rows might differ depending on the
location one is in the table, but also that LibLouisUTDML must have some
code somewhere formatting the table and this is unlikely to have any way
of handling such a change.
