Hi,
Thinking ahead for you:
I think you will need to write program code. You cannot just take the Music XML
in order and translate.
Example:
The music XML for a simple chord, C, E; The braille music will depend on
whether intervals read upwards or downwards.
I hope this helps.
With best regards,
James.

Subject: [liblouis-liblouisxml] Skipping XML Tags Translation
Hi All,
I would like to know if there is a way to ask LibLouis ignore
translating parts belonging to tags like XML? For instace, we are
working on translating music XML sheets into Braille but actually,
current Music XML doesn't provide enough info for us to easily follow
the Braille music transcription rules, especially with Braille music
formatting part. That's why we might need to add our own customized xml
tags for different note elements when sending to LibLouis to translate:
for example: sending to LibLouis:
<direction-type>text to be
translated</direction-type><ornament-type>grace
sign</ornament><octave-sign>octave4</octave><note-step>A</note-step> etc.
Is there a way to make LibLouis just have no translation for those tags?
Instead, just translate the text content between opening and closing tags.
We can extract text of each element and send to LibLouis one by one but
in this case, it's hard for us to keep track of Braille cell position in
order to nicely format the Braille characters vertically as well as the
condition checkings chars before or after current note element in order
to apply different rules. Braille linear translation is fine but when
coming to verticle formatting with exact match char on different lines
is a bit challenge...
Highly appreciate for your thoughts on this matter,
Best,
Phuc
