Boyer" <john.boyer@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Mon, 28 Oct 2013 16:09:05 -0500 To: brailleblaster@xxxxxxxxxxxxx According to the liblouis list and some posts on this list, nobody likes the idea of a Domain Specific Language (DSL). The biggest problem as far as I am concerned is cocumentation. We already need documentation for liblouisutdml. The documentation for liblouis is in good shape, although some have complained that it is incomprehensible. The other option is to try to fix the present emphasis code. That will require the introduction of new opcodes to handle the combined italic-bold emphasis. It will also require that transcribers be consulted about the Braille indicators for underlining. The opcodes for underlining will then have to be used in en-us-g1.ctb and in the g1 UEB table. The typeform parameter should really be called the characterAttributes (charAttr) parameter. I can see how an extension would be useful in screenreaders, to say nothing of handling colored and script type. John -- John J.
