Well, I'm still learning about different braille codes. There are things
I have learned that were not anticipated in the original design. The new
scripting language is intended to handle these and make other things
easier.
I have never seen the format shown in the included message in any Bible
that I have read, and I've seen plenty. That aside, the list style could
approximate it. You could also define a new style, but I'm not sure how
that would improve things.
It loooks like paragraphs are indicated by extra spaces after the verse
number. These could be indicated by unbreakable spaces (decimal 160).
Are the verse numbers enclosed in special xml tags? That would make
treating them separately easier. Omitting the number sign might require
some new code. This could be handled by a small enhancement to the
scripting language. On the other hand, the pass2 opcode could be used to
get rid of the number sign.
The first version of the scripting language is already available in
liblouis. Unfortunately, it isn;t yet documented. I've been putting all
my energy into implementing the Unified Tactile Document Markup Language
(UTDML) and fixing bugs. However, I am well aware that something that
isn't documented doesn't exist.
These are some preliminary thoughts. Much depends on being able to
distinguish the verse numbers from other numbers.
