is this right ? What's the scoop?

Hi Steve!

I believe so. The ROM contacts should have the same effect as they do when mounted on an R-3 ... .

The contacts in an AF confirm adapter are not electrically connected, in any way, to the lens. The adapter simply tell the Oly or Canon that an Oly or Canon lens is attached and the max aperture. A few of them can be programmed to change the max aperture to match the lens you're actually using.

They don't know what the actual lens is, or what it's set at. Nor is any effort made to connect with the ROM contacts. Their only purpose is to trick the camera, so that AF confirm circuits, within the body, work.

All my Leica lenses are 3-cam, so I cannot prove this ... but this is my understanding. Someone can correct me if I've got it wrong.

Cheers!
