Hello to all

No, it's not another moan. A while ago I spoke of a lens 1.4 on a R7.

Here is the operating mode to show the bug. This bug appears only with the low light. Ususally the bug appears for a quantity of light that brings the warning triangle in the selective mode.

Set the 1.4 lens at the aperture f2 with a 400 ISO speed set (it is independant of the film speed).

Choose selective or full field metering (independant of metering)

In a low light environment, aim the camera to a subject with no contrast (typically a wall). Move the aperture from f2 to f1.4, for each aperture value, look at the speed.

In theory, the speed should be divided by 2 (eg. go from 1/60 to 1/30) but in practice the speed is divided by 1.5 (eg. 1/60 to 1/45). The speed remains at 1/45 between f1.7 and f1.4

Now this bug disappears if the scene aimed by the camera has a contrast, even in low light. If there is some contrast the warning triangle disappear in selective mode.

A high contrast is for example a bright object put in front of the wall.

Thanks for having read this technical report. It is quite useless you will say as the chip on the R7 cannot be downloaded....

And we speak of an error of +1/2 ev in low light, in French some would say it's "shagging flies"....

G'Day.
