I am amazed at how sharp this lens is. Seems to be way sharper than my
Nikon 16-35/4, which is suppose to be pretty good. Of course, it is manual
focus and the build is not as good, but it is not really plasticy. It feels
good. I wish they would build a lens now days with a hard stop at infinity.
It would sure make using a lens for stars a lot easier. If 35mm is wide
enough, I usually slap my Leica 35-70 on the camera, dial it to infinity,
and shoot away at f/4. Works like a champ, and is very sharp wide open with
hardly any CA. Love that lens.

Interesting toy, Aram.
I particularly like the Bishop Canyon shot 6775. Neat composition that
suits the fisheye.
I have Olympus' little 8mm/f8 "fisheye in a body cap" lens ... as you say,
not for everything, but interesting for the right shots, or when your back
is up against the wall.
If your back is up against the wall, but you still need a wider view, but
don't want the fisheye effect, take your shot, and use PTLens. It has a
fisheye slider that has saved my bacon more than once.
I've posted an example for you, here:

The program is cheap ($25 for unlimited use on as many computers as you own
with lifetime updates) and works well.
Disclaimer: I have no connection with PTLens other than as a satisfied user.
It looks to me that the Rokinon is a decent piece for the money. The Oly is
slower, at f8, but it is also cheaper, at just $99.
David.
Before we went to the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, I ordered a fisheye
lens. Unfortunately, it did not come in time, but I kept it anyway.
I tried to use it on our trip home and here are a few examples.
From Yosemite, at night. Moon was almost full, so not many stars.
view large, please, so you can see them.

A few from Olmsted point.

And one from above Bishop in the Eastern Sierra Mountains.

Kind of fun. Not for everything, mind you, but interesting. I
bough the 12mm/2.8 Rokinon for Nikon mount. Not without it's faults, but
worth the money.
Comments welcome.
