Aram,
I ran into that aggravation too, surprised at not having an infinity stop while
trying, and failing, to get good star shots, but I finally figured out that it
was because I was using an auto focus lens and auto focus lenses need to focus
beyond infinity in order to “hunt” before and beyond exact infinity.
My manual focus Leica M lenses (and your manual focus lenses too, I am
confident) all have stops at infinity, which is why the Leica 35-70 works like
a charm.
