Interesting. I've been a left-eye shooter for years, probably from
shooting newsfilm cameras. When I had cataract surgery, I paid extra to
have my left eye set for distance and my right for reading/close. It works
out because the brain is fooled into giving you binocular vision at both
ranges.
I was primarily a Leica digital guy by then, and it worked well. I only
need glasses for long stints at a computer now as they bring both eyes
together to avoid eyestrain on my close-up eye.
BTW, early on, one of my eyes also grew a membrane over the lens implant,
and a few minutes with a laser, and all was well again.
