Fisheyes were really popular when I was in my teens..... 50 or so years
ago......
The use of a fisheye goes through ebbs and tides.....
They were always a nice diversion from straight photos..... pun intended.....
I have owned a Spiratone Fisheye adapter and the Fisheye VF... bought about the
same number of years ago.....
Used with any lens, it screwed into the front of the lens like a filter... 8mm
F8 and smaller. 24mm circular image created on the film .... or sensor....
Must find the correct filter adapter to use it with my current stuff.... ( at
the time, I was shooting the Contax RF... 40.5mm)
Went out chasing wildflowers yesterday in Anza Borrego. Most of the flowers
were small, and pretty dull colors ( compared to the bright orange Poppies of
the Antelope Valley).
But the desert floor was covered in them...... Would have been interesting to
try out the Fisheye with all those flowers....
Also Saw a group of 25 Swainsons Hawks taking a breather on migration from
Argentina..... Larger birds than I thought.....
You would have needed a 500mm lens to get a decent shot of the wary birds.....
