As you will recall, Kodak's Dektol was a paper developer, never intended for
film. It did no favours, with regard to grain - but, for paper, that did not
matter.
When I worked in the Yukon, back in the mid '60's, the shop I worked for had a
b&w film lab in the back of the travel agent across the street & up a bit.
They developed every b&w film in Dektol, because it had a longer useful life
when used in deep, dip tanks. Results were as you'd expect ... grainy.
The digital noise in the Harpdog shot rather reminds me of that time. Other
than that, I kinda like the shot of "The Big Dog", too.

I remember hearing of developing in Dektol being done at the newspaper for
which my dad worked.
