Hi David,
Yep a very nice "sharp LEICA PHOTO!???"
WELL I've used LEICA's it must be at least 50==55 year and I've had hundreds if
not THOUSANDS of frames, colour slides also B&W.
And without any of these new fangled "doo dad's" my frames have always been
razor sharp images! Oh sure I've screwed-up some from camera shake. But I could
hand hold in my ''YOUTH TIME" frames very nice & sharp, "LEICA SHARP GRABBERS!!"
I see many of these new fangled "doo-dad" LEICA BIT's & pieces as nothing more
but "MONEY GRABBING" GIZMO's for Leica than as improvements for taking pictures!
But that's me on assignments week after week, months working with 3 LEICA SLR's
and 3 range finders hanging on my body and hand holding the gear. AND guess
what? :-) I always came home with thousands and thousands of ice sharp
negatives and slides without all this fancy dandy gear. OH sorry, maybe I'm
showing I'm slipping into an "OLD MAN" attitude? :-)
cheers,
Dr.ted Grant O.C.
:-)

A very nice place David.
OTT: regarding remote triggering, isn’t it what the i-phone was invented for?
Wi-Fi remote works fine on our fujis, I DK about the olies though.
Keep experimenting :-)

Recently, we had a discussion here, about the Hi-Res mode now available in many
cameras.
I was recently down at the Othello Tunnels, near Hope BC. Now a park, it was
originally a series of 4 railway tunnels from the 1880's.
I thought it an excellent place to test the hi-res mode in my Olympus EM-1.
To be honest, I was not that impressed ... but then there may be a good reason.
In the latest firmware update, Oly has added the hi-res mode to one of the
one-button menus, and that's what I used. Much faster & easier than hunting
through the main menus.
Unfortunately, when you select it that way, it is in the same menu that the
self-timer is on. So, if you select Hi-Res, you cannot also select self-timer.
Since I did not have an electric release with me (in fact, I don't own one),
for landscapes & portraits, I often depend on the 2 second self-timer to reduce
vibrations. After all, Oly stress that the camera needs to be on a tripod, but
even on a tripod, when you press the shutter button, you introduce vibration.
Can't avoid it.
And, I think that vibration hurt the results.
So, simple to use, but you gotta do it right. The system is not tolerant of
ANY vibrations.
One plus, for those who like creamy, flowing water - the multiple exposures for
hi-res mode gives you that "look", without having to use a slow shutter speed
and/or a strong ND filter.
If you want to see what "almost right" is like, go here:

and the next two to the right.
I will try again and post the results.
David.
