I believe you... though I must admit I never make 3x5' prints.
In fact the only really large print I've ever had was a 27 foot wide billboard
with an image made from a 10mp camera. Up close it looked truly awful, but
when glanced at, from 600 feet and at 100kph, it looked pretty good!
Focus-stacked or not, I always enjoy your panos.

The reason I was experimenting with FS is that taking scenic panos I
wanted sharp focus from the nearest trees and their leaves to the far
horizon. Such deep focus
enhances the quality of the photo when you blow it up BIG - like 3 feet
by 5 feet. So for this purpose FS has a use beyond table top still life.
