[LRflex] DMR/R9 stopped working

My R9/DMR stopped firing today. Admittedly, I haven't used it in
about 2 months but I can't get the combo to fire now. When I hit the
release, the film counter on the R9 flashes a few times but then
nothing. The releases on the DMR don't work either. The DMR responds
to the menu commands and scrolling. I have reformatted the card. If I
remove the DMR from the R9, the R9 works fine in "film" mode. I took
the battery just now and am hoping that it will reset. I haven't
tried reinstalling firmware but that would be my next thing to try.
Does anyone have other suggestions before I send it to NJ?
