If I am feeling chipper I may go photograph events from high up near the south
rim of the canyon. Park at Mackenzie or just walk from my house. Another
good vantage point is up toward the school on the south side of Mae Simmons,
catch the hearse as it turns left off MLK. Telephoto zoom is needed of
course, maybe a tripod. -- barry

Subject: [leasbirds] Traffic around Canyon Lakes Monday 10/5
Wanted to let everybody know that there will be gobs of extra traffic around
the Canyon Lakes, east of MLK, on Monday, 10/5, due to the funeral procession
for Mac Davis.
There will be a private ceremony for his family, and the general public has
been encouraged to line Canyon Lake Drive all the way around Lake 6/Dunbar
Historical Lake.
His motorcade will drive south from the airport down MLK, and will continue
east down Canyon Lake Drive, and will enter the cemetery through the north
entrance.
The report I saw on the news said they’re encouraging people to start lining up
about 12:30. Might want to avoid the area for birding, until later in the
afternoon/evening.
