Greetings All:
The highlights from 4:00 to 5:15 (most also seen by Holly Bundock, Jim
Crites, and Brad Shine): 1 Common Poorwill, 1 Green-tailed Towhee, 3
Spotted Towhees, 1 Grasshopper Sparrow, 1 Chipping Sparrow, 8+
Clay-colored Sparrows, 1 Field Sparrow, 1 White-crowned Sparrow, 1
Song Sparrow, 2 Lincoln's Sparrows, 1 Yellow-breasted Chat, 8+
Orange-crowned Warblers, 1 Yellow Warbler, and 1 Townsend's Warbler.
We all got fantastic looks at the Common Poorwill when it landed on a
window sill, we all got fairly good looks at the Yellow-breasted Chat,
and we all got eyes on a Grasshopper Sparrow resting at the tippy top
of a live oak (not really where one would expect to see this species).
When I got home, I found the first fall White-throated Sparrow (along
with 2 White-crowned Sparrows) tucked into my largest brush pile.
