I find sparrows so hard to ID. Great shots and the variety of birds in
Ruidoso is awesome.

Morning!
I’ve seen several birds recently that I’m unsure what they are. I’m
assuming they are some kind of sparrows, which I don’t have a lot of
experience identifying.
The first two pictures are from Ruidoso last weekend. I don’t think
they’re the same bird. I was guessing chipping sparrow for the first one.
Not sure of the second one.
The third picture was yesterday in my backyard. There was also a
white-crowned sparrow with a black and white head. My guess was a first
year white-crowned sparrow.
The trip to Ruidoso was great for birds. We saw Mountain* and Western
Bluebirds, White-Breasted Nuthatch*, Pygmy Nuthatch*, Common Raven, Stellar
Jay, Dark-eyed Junco-Oregon, Dark-eyed Junco-Red-backed*, plus the two
sparrows. (*first time IDs) All in all a good trip and great to get away!
Thanks for your help!
