I made it to the cemetery about 3:45 after work, without having seen Jennifer’s
email, so the birds I saw were surprises. Unfortunately I wasn’t surprised by
her warblers, Solitaire, or Sapsuckers. I did find the Western Bluebirds
(didn’t cooperate for counting for me either), and the Downy Woodpecker with
the 3 Ladderbacks. Lots of Juncos and Yellowrumps. Spent about an hour and a
half, might have spent longer if I had read the email and known about the
Black-throated Gray Warbler and other goodies. I suspect they had wandered out
of the cemetery by the time I got there, but it’s possible that I missed them
with so much happening. It just goes to show how much birding is about being in
the right place at the right time and looking in the right direction.

I usually walk the cemetery. I see more when I walk.

Kassie,
Nope. You’ve just got to drive through and look. No one area is consistently
good. It leads to many frustrating trips there!
