Hey all,
As many have surmised from the eBird RBA alerts, it is cruise ship season
where cruise ships are repositioning from warmer Caribbean waters to the
cooler charms of Alaska. I was fortunate to be on a cruise that was truly
incredible in pelagic birds and marine mammals with sightings of Cuvier's
beaked whale and orca as well as all three "regular" Pterodroma species
(Cook's, Murphy's & Hawaiian). Although we were not fortunate to see
Cook's Petrel in Oregon waters, it was an amazing trip with MURPHY'S PETREL
stealing the show.
