turnout last Wednesday for a Town Meeting and interest for continuing on a
weekly basis. One thing that came up was instead of having it with an open
discussion format to have it with a more focused approach. So lets give it

which may cast some light on why so many people were frantically shopping
for toilet paper a few weeks ago and why it was running out in some places.

Most of us were quite puzzled by that emphasis a few weeks ago. But now,
the data clearly show we haven't been keeping up with the Joneses (or the
Wu Han) , or anywhere near that level. It has been interesting to see what
tends to run out in which stores lately. When last I entered Trader Joe's
two weeks ago, for the early old folks hours, the only things we found
missing were eggs and kefir. At Costco, it was Clorox wipes. The data
convince me that the exercise of long walks outside in open areas and wind,
wearing cloth mask and practicing distancing, is actually safer than
staying at home, but I haven't walked into a store for awhile. My wife Luda
has, wearing an N95 mask, knowing she is not as vulnerable as I seem to be.

We get SUCH a deluge of details and viewpoints on Covid from our old
friends practicing science!
