Dear Friends,
I want to take this opportunity to remind you that Finance Committee is
requesting that if possible you make a significant end-of-calendar year
2017 contribution and/or increase your monthly auto-give for calendar 2018.
As we reported at the December monthly meeting, our regular contributions
are more than $2,700 lower than our contributions at this time last year,
and only 30% of our annual budget (i.e., $17,000 below 42% (5/12ths) of the
total fiscal year budget). Hence we still need a large increase in
contributions, because the increase in the BYM assessment and all the
budgeted transfers will take place during the second half of the fiscal
year.
I also note that given the likelihood of the pending tax reform, some
households may find an advantage in contributing this month rather than
during the first sixth months of calendar 2018 (i.e., the remainder of the
meeting's fiscal year). Please note however, that in the longer term the
meeting's financial needs will continue and hence we hope we can count on
your ongoing support in future years, regardless of tax incentives.
