Upon learning more about the female common yellow throat, i have come to the
conclusion that it IS that! Thank you!!! I knew it wasnt the male and in both
Sibley and Kaufman the description was drab, snd this was not drab. So i guess
"drabness" is in the eye of the beholder. Nothing else showed under and vent
being yellow. It was exciting to see out in the open and close, seemingly much
less secretive than her mate. Hopefully i will see it again in the company of
more experienced birders than hubby and I.
