Hello All,
Laura and I walked the loop around pond 5 in the Fisher Unit south of Royal Ave
this afternoon. Four MARBLED GODWITS flew across the reservoir and appeared to
land on the mudflats east of Perkins Peninsula. We were unable to see them on
the ground, but Gerry Meenaghan was able to see them from Hwy 126 and confirm
the ID. Nine WHITE-FACED IBIS were seen flying across the south end of the
refuge. They landed in the bit of water at the south end of pond 6. The biggest
surprise was seven BAND-TAILED PIGEONS flying over the Fisher Butte barn,
heading West / Southwest. Several others have seen BTPI in the area recently.
