4 of us birders saw 3 in one tree this morning on trail 6 along the
buckbrush (ceanothus) area next to the creek above where the creek crosses
the trail. Lots of B-G Gnatcatcher singing was going on. We checked the
ceanothus towards the bottom of trail 56, both on the way to and back from
the Trail 6 area, but had no sight nor sound of them in their trail 56
area. 2 pair of nesting Gnatcatchers! Now wouldn't that be cool!

Diane Pettey and I had at least 4 Blue-gray Gnatcatchers at Pisgah today.
We had a pair at the creek on trial #6 . We had a second pair on trial #3
in the oaks where the trail zig zags up the hill. The pair in the oaks were
collecting moss from the oaks for nesting material.
There could have been as many as 5 as Diane thought she heard 3 on trail
#6.
