Kara,

There has been no change initiated from Klamath County in the
dispatching of Fire District No. 1 apparatus to Dorris for ALS calls.
We have experienced a decrease in call volume. I am interested in the
memo from the Dr as the last notice was an agreement that Paramedics
would have Paramedic scope and standing orders from the jurisdiction
from which they respond from. This was designated as a temporary fix at
the time.

Monte,

I thought this should fall in your court.

Okay, so here's where we are with that issue:

We received a statement from the California EMSA and Dr. Rudnick is
reviewing Jackson County and Klamath County EMS Protocols. Dr Rudnick's
memo should be out shortly to provide further clarification. Does that
help?

Kara,

I think this procedural question should probably be addressed between
the responders and their governing bodies, maybe another joint meeting
is in order?

Do you need anything "procedural" from me?

Hi Kara,

Simply that I think both center now better understand how we work and
what it would take for us to change procedure, but that any procedural
need to be made by the EMS providers.

Hi Jeanine

I received your e-mail but I'm a little unclear about what it means
exactly.

Thanks,

Happy Friday All,

Keith Endacott and I had the pleasure of visiting Phil Anzo's Cal-Fire
center last week in Yreka; and Phil spent the afternoon yesterday in
Klamath Falls visiting our Interagency Comm Center and Klamath 9-1-1
Center. I think I can safely speak for all when I say these visits were
very enlightening and informative. We now have a considerably clearer
picture of the restrictions and challenges that each of us face within
our centers. I do not think that either center will have difficulty
implementing procedural changes to our dispatching of EMS responders, as
soon as those affected agencies provide any possible procedural
adjustments.
