I agree - Clap for the Wolfman was a low point in my opinion, too. I accepted the Randy-less Guess Who, but the novelty song wore thin for me. Had it remained something else - without the Wolfman's appearance - I would have liked the beat. That would be an original demo I'd like to hear. I do not see John Lennon as a songwriter of positive images, with few exceptions (Imagine being one). After all, he's the one that said his mother had him, he didn't have her; he didn't want to be a soldier; asked how do you sleep?; asked what have you done this Christmas; wailed on about going cold turkey; demanded truth; and even complained that we're all f*cking peasants as far as he could see.
