As far as the Beatles remasters go, I`m pretty impressed with the sound. I`ve gotten everything from Revolver up in the stereo releases and for some reason I`m the most impressed by the White Album. If the mono box wasn`t so hard to find in stores, I would have gotten that, but now I don`t want to spend $230 after I`ve already gotten the others. As far as the packaging is concerned, I fairly impressed by the booklets and the mini version of the white album poster. Although there is quite a bit missing from it. The mini documentaries are ok, but they seem mostly for younger people who don`t really know the story. Not to mention that the documentary from the Let It Be CD seems to be sugarcoated by Paul. It seems that they picked out the oddball pictures of the Beatles laughing during the sessions and made it seem like people have been wrong all along about how bad the whole situation really was. It`s obvious that when Billy Preston showed up, things got a little lighter. But I`m quite sure that if John and George were still around, you probably wouldn`t be hearing them say very good things about that whole album.
