Hi Steve,
I had a feeling the web page was a wee bit stale, but I didn't realize it was
two years old. However, I have also found out that there is a potential
liability issue. Apparently, the powers that be with the Ontario Fire
Marshall's Office/Emergency Management Office only want emergency messages
passed digitally, therefore eliminating the risk of incorrect information being
passed via voice. Correct me if I'm mistaken, but this would mean a separate
digi peater.

Subject: RE: [karc] Another thought
Hi again, Brian:
On further investigation, I've learned that the information on the ECOA web
site is at least 2 years out-of-date because the organization, while nominally
existent, really hasn't existed for at least that long. I also understand that
there hasn't been a CANWARN net on VE3TJU for at least two years if not longer.
For some time, a CANWARN net took place every morning on the simplex frequency
146.490, used by the Napanee Group; but that net has been gone for a long time
too. So at this point, I think it's a non-starter.
