Not if you have your internet properties set high enough in security.
Sure, the mail opens, but anything which executable does not if set high.

I am not a computer genious, so I cant give all the particulars of WHY
this is, but it works for me. Only a couple times over the years (with
email only) has anything come through successfully. And then it was
caught by AVG before it could do damage.
But the vermin keep trying. I see a day when they might just get it and
really screw things up for us email addicts.
This last few month's this has all gotten kinda crazy. I dont believe the
people out there who use OE and other mail clients really know how many
of them are infected and sending out. And if what I see is any
indication, (IF possible) the bugs being sent our are mutating on their
own!?
Again, I dont know how this would be possible. Yet I notice that they
change, from content to byte size as they become more numerous. Along
with SUBJECT: change....
