Hope this gets through.
The problem with updating $indows is that you get newer files installed,
then you are in front of the proverbial fan.
Thats where an image of your original install comes in, unfortunatly, you
lose everything from that point.
Could be you can grab from the net, the working file to replace the damaged
one, but then you have already thought of that.
