In a high level FS9 flight, from EGAC to Stansted, I thought the faster machine and card would allow the luxury of using Extended Terrain Textures. So it proved, though the ground definition is nowhere near that you would expect to see from 30,000'. The trade off is that textures are reluctant to snap into focus, when back down to 3000'. I paused, to wait for them to sharpen and it took about 30 seconds. At that point I unticked ETT and they were significantly sharper than before. So it looks as though it might pay to have them ticked, then untick at the start of descent.

Any brighter ideas?

I'll be interested to see how FSX compares.
