Right, I'll try it later.

I spend hours each day Beta testing scenery and it's interesting the way on the ground framerates vary, despite similar generic objects being used. A bit of investigation shows it's often down to one, or both, of other scenery numbers in the localle or AI. The latter seems to have the most effect on fps in FSX; next to the unessentia;l Light Bloom. The pity is that I find AI indispensable. It's nice to spot the occasional aircraft when airborne. On the ground I find empty aprons a bit soulless. At least in FSX it's possible to have the best of both worlds, by leaving AI on for taxiing out, takeoff and flight, whilst turning it off on finals, if framerates become unacceptably low, then back on when taxiing in. Framerates have to be in low single figures to be unacceptable.

I almost forgot the bit I had in mind; Autogen seems to have far less fps impact in FSX than it did in FS9.

You're spot on Bones, they go in the [Terrain] section of FSX.cfg.

The Autogen Annotator software for FS9 used to have a slider that altered
the ratio between buildings and trees. You could increase trees at the
expense of buildings and vice versa. Obviously FSX has separated them for
added functionality.

Would those lines not go in the TERRAIN section? Or does FSX not have this?

A recent Autogen discussion on the Horizon forum again raises the subject of
Autogen.

TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_TREES_PER_CELL=1500
TERRAIN_MAX_AUTOGEN_BUILDINGS_PER_CELL=1000

The following lines are shown, to dictate the spread between trees and
buildings. I recall they go in FSX.cfg but where?
