No you can not the update feature is for updates of the release you are
using, i.e. if you are using 11 then the updates will only look for updates
for that version and so on. Jaws 12 is a s m a update

I thought one could update to v. 12 from within v. 11 by using the update
feature in the help menu. However I do not find v. 12 as listed in what is
available. I do have 1 sma remaining.
