I'm using the latest free version of WordWeb and Word 2003. They work
very well together. I didn't see the beginning of this thread to know
what your exact problem is, but this is how it works for me. In Wordweb
under Options, simply indicate the hot key you want. I think it was
automatically defined when I installed the program, but I don't really
remember that. It's control-alt-w for me. So, then in Word when I want
to look up a word, I simply highlight the word and press control-alt-w.
The word is automatically looked up and I just tab once to the results.
Control-alt-w from anywhere will bring up the WordWeb application, and
then I can input a word manually into the search field. I didn't add
any special plug-ins or anything.

Hi Judith
According to your Help Menu, "If you are using MS Word you can skip step 1 if you have selected the Direct MS Word Link option from the Options menu. The word the cursor is on will be automatically selected. I can find no such link. Other sites on the Internet say that WordWeb (the free version) can be integrated in MS Word by following the prompts on installation. I found no such prompts. Can you tell me the answer.
The WordWeb options menu has the Direct MS Word link option. Then use from Word as normal (press cltr+Alt+W).
