I think what the person is saying is not that they don't know how to do
that. They're saying that when they go into that dialogue for properties at
the shortcut page and set a shortcut key just as they know how to, it won't
stick after they exit the dialogue. This has been noted by almost everyone
since Jaws 8 was released. There was a flurry of discussion about it a long
time ago, I think on the JFW list, and I managed with what I learned to make
the hotkey stick, but I forgot how.

Just select JAWS within the submenu which you've navigated to- don't launch
it; press applications key, open properties. You should be good to go.

Hi All,
I know this has been discussed before but I have always been able to get a
hot key set so I've never paid much attention to the discussions. I'm
trying to set a hot key for Jaws 8 though and can't seem to make it work.
I never keep the Jaws icon on my desktop so I am going to the start menu
then to programs, Jaws 8, and finally Jaws within the Jaws 8 submenu. I
have set hot keys in the same way with other Jaws versions and it has
worked, anybody have any suggestions?
