The burner should make no difference. The settings for determining how to
record voice or music are in GoldWave, which also offers numerous format
choices.

It seems you're as unfamiliar with this process as I was until recently. You'd
do well to read or listen to some tutorials on the subject. One good set on
GoldWave is done by Rick Harmon. You can download them without charge from his
website at

Is this also good for burning spoken text?

For burning the files onto a cd, I would recommend using windows media
player. That is the best one that I have used so far for burning cds.

I am no expert in this area, but the opinions you've been getting aren't
consistent with my understanding of GoldWave. True, GoldWave enables you to
record onto the PC, create a file of that recording and do some very nice
editing. However, GoldWave is not a burning program, meaning that it isn't
designed to enable copying onto a CD. For that part of the process, you need
separate software. One lister says he has Roxio installed on his Dell and that
it can burn CDs. I also have a Dell, but sadly not that program.

I'm sure others will correct me if I misstate the case. I haven't
reached the CD burning stage yet and so can offer no thoughts about the
software that would best serve those needs.

          Judith,
This can be done by using any version of Gold Wave. You can use your
computers built in mike, if it has one, or an external mike. Good luck and
Merry Christmas!

Is there a way to record someone speaking on CD? I'm sure that
this question sounds crazy but I need to know. Much thanks, Judith
