Hi Tony and others, I doubt that the system disk error she is getting pertains at all to the installation of JFW. The next thing that needs to happen is to see if the computer will even recognize the hard drive anymore. This will require a disk that can boot to DOS. Once she gets to the command line, she will need to type "c:" and press the enter key. This will require sighted assistance unless the disk contains a DOS screen reader and she has a supported hardware synthesizer. If she gets to the C-prompt, she might have damaged system files and the operating system might need to be reinstalled. However, it she gets a message like, "invalid Drive Specification," this could mean that something suddenly happened to the hard drive. I suppose she could have damaged some system files in order to install JFW, but I don't know how that could have happened. Does anyone else have any comments? Thanks. She downloaded jfw 5.0 from the Freedom scientific website and tried to install it. Well, she double-clicked the icon on the desktop, saw an hour glass and heard the computer rumbling. Here comes the good part. She then saw all of her desktop icons disappear, all except the system files. The computer stopped rumbling, the icons were gone so she rebooted. She the got a message saying, invalid system disk, try another and hit any key to continue. Well, there was no disk in the floppy drive or in the cdrom drive, so she tried to reboot again and got the same thing. Windows will not start. Has anyone ever had this problem with a downloaded version of jfw? If anyone can help with this, it would be greatly appreciated.
