Hi,I do have an external hard drive and I back up my documents, email and favorites folders but I am wondering if anyone can recommend one of the online sites where a person can store such information. I had a crash of my Dell laptop hard drive two weeks ago and discovered that I had not been especially diligent with my backups and some were from as far back as July. I was interested in an online site since in case of theft or fire or such my external hard drive and backup CD's, etc, would probably be lost as well. Any suggestions for safe sites? I saw one that was $4.95/month and I would be willing to pay something in that range for the peace of mind. My info is not terrifically sensitive just important and irreplaceable to me.
Thanks for any advice, Sherrie At 12:20 PM 11/8/2008, you wrote:
More thoughts on this: Given how cheap the external hard drives are these days (you can get a 250 GB drive for less than $130), I'd just get a few of these and back up your C drive to them. A lot of computer BIOS systems now support booting from external hard drives, which in theory anyhow, simplifies switchover to a working drive, especially if your original bootable system drive is itself an external. USB 2 drives might be a bit slow as primary system hard drives. So I'd suggest using the ESATA drives for bootable hard drives if you decide to go this route.
