I understand your point about the pricing difference for differring OS
versions; there's *no* technical reason for that pricing, you're not
using any different features of jaws in xp/home than say in xp/pro, so
it's purely a marketing decision.  In my opinion it's designed to get
more money out of institutional buyers who are more likely to be using
xp/pro or win2k.

As for your second point, that you have to convince an employer to spend
a lot of money to buy you a copy of jaws, if they would offer a time
payment plan as I outlined earlier, say $50 a month for instance, then
anyone using jaws to get them a job could probably then afford to make
the payments themselves and would not have to struggle with their
employer.
