in my outlook express i have sort bby received and assending checked.

How do I uncheck sort by ascending. I want them to be sorted by received. I
tried hitting enter to uncheck ascending and space bar and it won't uncheck.
So how do I uncheck something in sort by that I don't want checked.
I am using windows 98 SE and Jaws 5.1 latest update.
