Tony,
I did not have to install this codec on my Dell XP Home SP 2 system. MP3
Directcut installed with no special requirements and used the standard ACM
decoder.

On this note, do any of you know where I can get the "lamemp3.dll" file? I
want to use the direct cut program, but I was told that I need this file.
Thanks for any help with this. If this is off topic, feel free to contact me
off list. My email address is:

  Thanks again.

    Samer,
I have found the following to be the quickest & easiest for me with MP3
Directcut to cut a song.
    1. Ctrl+O - Open desired MP3 file.
    2. Use left & right arrow keys & pgup pgdn to get to desired cut point.
    3. Switch to JAWS cursor and click the Set begin button with left mouse
button.
    4. Position to end of cut and use JAWS cursor to click Set End button.
    5. Ctrl+E - bring up export screen to extract the cut MP3 and name it.

You may use the F5, F6, F7, and F8 PF keys to check your begin & end points
for accuracy.
Use Shift with left & right arrow keys to adjust cut points.

This procedure may be repeated as necessary for other MP3 cuts.
