Judith,

Debbie's right that you can sometimes discover someone by simply googling
them, but not if they have no reason to have a presence anywhere on the Web,
which is an awful lot of ordinary people from our lives, and from not in our
lives, whose locations, phone numbers and email addresses we may wish to
find. So, still, the most likely approach is to go onto one or another
search service that's made for this purpose. Most of them used to be free,
then some began to charge fees, and I don't know who does what, any more.
But Yahoo used to have something like that, now that I think of it. Called
Yahoo People Search. It would be worth a trip to http://www.yahoo.com just
to look through the various links and text to see if they still operate such
a service. As I recall, the last one or two I tried weren't too difficult
with Jaws.

Hi Judith and all;

I know there are services and I have seen the yellow and white pages to look
up businesses and people. I don't remember if they are free anymore. But I
have actually done a search straight from the Google edit field and found
people that way. I found myself in one of the guide dog list and in a school
directory. I also found an old high school teacher from the late 60s as
well. Then again, there are people I should have found but couldn't. It's
worth a try.
Debbie

there isn't a service like that in Windows. There are Web based search
services for peoples' email addresses, phone numbers, and all sorts of
things, but they're not part of your computer's own programs. Maybe
someone
else here can suggest one or two such services.

This only works for people in your address book. I want to find someone
not
  in my address book. Judith

    Hi Judith

On Windows 98SE press the Start Menu key, then F (Find), then P
(People).
This takes you into a dialog box for Contacts.

What is the key combination needed to get to "find people"? Thanks,
  Judith
